The following measures are being implemented to make the library the safest possible space during this pandemic:

  • Staff will be wearing masks or visors, as mandated by the governor
  • Masks or visors are required to be worn by patrons while they are in the library.  This decision was made with a lot of deliberation with care and concern, and it was decided that due to the uniqueness of the library environment, requiring masks was essential for safety of patrons and staff.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
  • Additional sanitizing and cleaning will be performed throughout the day.
  • Returned books are held for 72 hours before checking in and shelving.
  • A limited number of individuals will be allowed in the buildings at one time.
  • Physical barriers have been set up between staff and patrons.
  • Furniture in other areas of the library have been re-arranged or removed to comply with the social distancing mandate.
  • Toys and select furniture has been removed in the childrenโ€™s area and the childrenโ€™s computer are has been closed to comply with social distancing mandate.
  • Computer time and availability are limited in order to meet the required state guidelines for social distancing and sanitizing between uses.
  • Curbside Service by appointment will continue at the Main Library.
  • Curbside Service at Laurelville will be per patron request.
